This Will Be The Longest Avengers Movie To Date
If you’re a superhero/movie buff then this probably won’t faze you; in fact, it’ll probably hype you up even more for the upcoming movie.
“Avengers: Endgame” has a runtime of 3 hours and 2 minutes, according to a posting on the AMC Theaters website — making it the longest ever Marvel movie. Marvel Studios tends to run a little long with most films hitting around the 2-hour and 15-minute mark. But then again, that’s the beauty of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, isn’t it?
The original 2012 Avengers movie clocked in at 2 hours 23 minutes, and “Age of Ultron” came in at 2 hours 21 minutes. “Captain America: Civil War” is the current longest at 2 hours and 27 minutes.
Disney and Marvel have yet to confirm whether Endgame will indeed run for three hours, and the post as since been deleted from the AMC website.
Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo first discussed the three-hour length with Collider early last month, saying, “Again, this is a culmination film of 22 movies, it’s a lot of storytelling to work into it.”
“Emotion is an intrinsic part of that to us,” Russo added. “When you have to tell a really complicated story and you want strong emotional moments with the characters, it just requires a certain amount of real estate. This one, in particular, feels like three hours worth of real estate.”
