Still Seeking Vengeance For His Late Puppy
It’s a question even the characters in the movie seem to ask, but fans are loving the action all the same. And now, everything is about to get even more intense with the third installment of the “John Wick” series.
The trailer is a visual treat, offering the classic operatic action and killing fans have come to expect from the franchise. The plot is as simple enough: 2017’s “John Wick: Chapter 2” ended with a $14 million contract out on his life with “John Wick: Chapter 3” picking up the story.
“The third chapter is literally connected to 2 and starts with John Wick on the run,” Reeves said. “It goes crazy from there.”
From the trailer, viewers are introduced to new characters, Sofia (Halle Berry) and Mark Dacascos and Asia Kate Dillon, who play characters associated with the criminal council known as the High Table.
Keeping with the canine-centric plotline in the film series, Sofia also has two Belgian Malinois dogs.
“Whereas John’s puppy was symbolic of his wife, Halle’s two dogs are symbolic of someone she’s lost,” director Chad Stahelski, told EW. He added that they developed an action sequence around her “canine assistants…. They work very well tactically.”
“John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” is set to be released on May 17.
