Sandra Bullock faces a post-apocalyptic world — without her eyes to rely on — “Bird Box,” Netflix’s sci-fi thriller that comes to the streaming service in December.
The trailer just debuted and it’s sure to keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire 3 minutes.
Described as a “post-apocalyptic horror film,” the Netflix movie is based on Josh Malerman’s 2014 novel and stars the Oscar winner as Malorie, a mother of two who must face a mysterious force without vision.
The trailer opens with Bullock alone, bound and blindfolded in the woods before providing the Bird Box backstory: A “entity that takes on the form of your worst fears,”causes people to hallucinate their deepest fears, driving the world’s population to commit suicide. In order to survive, Bullock flees with her two children and must navigate a dangerous world without vision.
In the trailer, Bullock says: “Listen to me: We’re going on a trip now, it’s going to be rough. If you hear something in the woods, you tell me. If you hear something in the water, you tell me. But under no circumstances are you allowed to take off your blindfold.”
“Every single decision I have made has been for them,” Bullock declares in the trailer.
The Netflix film features a star-studded cast including Tom Hollander, Machine Gun Kelly, BD Wong, Sarah Paulson and John Malkovich. Netflix will release the film, directed by Susanne Bier, on December 21.
